A line from Boris Johnson

She really has come a long way

from the kinky curls included

in that fan interpretation of the

Hetalia webcomic/anime character.

Now it’s dyed blonde hair & pouty

lips; but is she brave enough to

dye her hair ‘blorange’ & walk

through the high school hallways,

no matter how gracefully? It’s a

big, life-altering decision, especi-

ally since her parents are both in

the army & tend to rigidity in their

attitude towards change. Maybe if

she accompanies the hairstyle with a

uniform — no, not military. Nor nun.

Bus driver is what she has in mind.

From the Pound Cantos: CENTO X

I want it to be quite clear that

he did among other things

from the other side, from inside

the chateau, & then out by the

lower river, the ball as of melted

amber, coiled lozenge of the

pavement, clear shapes, broken —

on les pèse à un centigramme —

pouring there into the cataract,

with noise of sea over shingle.

About ten years after this inci-

dent he pulled his sword on a

student for laughing. Then the

telephone didn’t work for a week.

Jocasta Quits In Protest

Facing political persecution, &
concerned that a war of words
on the subject of replacement hor-
mone therapy was being waged
against her by Augustine, the
Bishop of Hippo, via a series of mis-
spelled tweets, she signaled to the
camera operator to cut away from
her & focus on the small window set
high up in the otherwise blank back
wall. Then, in a voice-over, she calmly
said: “When the Bishop asks — & he
will — what is the highest meaning of
the sacred truth, just answer vast
emptiness, nothing holy
 & walk away.”

viva voce

She picks up a word, in-

spects it. The scratches

on its surface imply

it’s been used too many

times already. Same with

the next one she picks up.

A new lexicon beckons.

An electromechanical  hold-open device

I prefer to see my sushi made in

front of me. Forty-five degrees off

to one side is best even though food

shot at forty-five degrees on a phone

can appear as if it’s sliding off the

table. Optimal light is the absolute

key; & electric knife sharpeners

take away the guesswork, especi-

ally with a guide rail to assist when

using the online booking system.

Getting biometric verification

a monotreme uses an algorithm

to arrive at the top five causes

of stressful life events. Goal-

setting is important for both the

platypus & echidna; & knowing

what has to be overcome is im-

perative in formulating realistic

objectives. Turns out the most

critical item in avoiding stress

is buying a car in order to get to

work or take the kids to school.
