Talkin' Too Much

Sittin’ in the evening just watchin’ TV
News on every channel is competin’ for me
Gonna turn you off with my remote control touch
Won’t nobody listen when you’re talkin’ too much

Listen to the preachers goin’ on about sin
Tell you you’re a loser but with them you can win
Think they know it all, don’t wanna hear no more stuff
You know they can’t listen ’cause they’re talkin’ too much

Everybody’s talkin’ they got nothin’ to say
It’s everywhere you turn, you know you can’t get away
Small talk on the airwaves and on lines underground
Small talk in the office and the cities and towns

Talkin’ too much

Everybody’s tryin’ to sell you somethin’ you know
An idea or some hairspray or a TV show
The truth is in yourself, you gotta keep in touch
And you know you can’t listen if you’re talkin’ too much

I know I’m talkin’ at you just like everybody else
I’m the one to talk, I like to talk a lot myself
I could keep on goin’ the whole night long
But I know I’d better shut up and just finish this song

I’m talkin’ too much
