Nothin's Here to Stay

It’s 2am, sittin’ here alone,
got a half-empty bottle, I’m starin’ at the phone.
Here in the dark with just the streetlight shining in,
I can see the ashtray, I can see the gin.

Hey hey na na na na, I hear people say
Hey hey na na na na, nothin’s here to stay
Hey hey na na na na

Can’t call nobody, they’re all at home in bed,
but I like the silence, cause it doesn’t hurt my head.
Don’t want no razor, don’t wanna take no pills,
got a .38 revolver layin’ on the window sill, I said

Hey hey na na na na, this is what I say
Hey hey na na na na, nothin’s here to stay.
Hey hey na na na na.

I can take the pressure, I can take the heat,
I can take the heartache, but I can’t get no sleep

Hey hey na na na na, everbody say
Hey hey na na na na, nothin’s here to stay.
Hey hey na na na na.

It’s gettin’ daylight, bottle’s almost gone.
Not feelin’ better, just feelin’ kinda numb.
Dove in the darkness, the darkness was too deep,
so I just waited till the sunlight hit the street.

Hey hey na na na na, this is what I say
Hey hey na na na na, nothin’s here to stay.
Hey hey na na na na.
