Poetry of Issue 9: Sweet Dogss

Sweet Dogs

Getting zero in the most minor of tests

Signposted latest sayings call for perfection

Rhyming and stealing, sudden vacancy

Perfection of form, an intelligent comeback

Slipping disks a practice not gone before.

Rewarded through stasis, a coldened coffee,

Ploughing through time a burdened slight,

Overpriced announcements stuck on mute

This fashionable skin outshines the performative.

Turgid repetition, bracing for the impossible

Going through the immobile into another void,

Cursed into a sleeping bundle, escaping the streets

Suggested into further credit, practiced sweetly

Knowing something is wrong a generous aside.

Death through another loan, excellent reprise,

Caught unto death in the children’s hour,

Liking what’s on offer, the uncanny switch

Begging for preferment, travelling with a heart.

Waiting for payment, the intransigent model,

Raw genius gone uphill, inspired by demons

Hard practice through sorrowed mistakes

The weeping wound landscaped into a close,

Visiting out of turn, returning to a Godhead.
