They should rage and sneer
Skulk
And sneak
Never an accident
Can’t just appear
But sometimes I’m a vapor
No tone to gage
Futile on the page
Not furious nor meek
Not a precedent
But just
A
Purposeless
Taper
Not worthy of an entrance, I think
Absent from the script
Straddling hall to doorframe
A pregnant blink
But waiting is not enough
I think
Perhaps I will just
Be
Carve myself an entrance
Indistinguishable
But inextricably
Me
As I centre
And just enter.
