Before We Forget
poems
by Gregg Weatherby
Gregg Weatherby’s poetry is both timely and timeless. He sees the world as it is. He’s right here on the planet watching as the birds disappear and the weather changes.
Gregg captures the moments patching together his own memories in a way that captures the beauty as it passes and the sadness as it leaves.
You can tell this book of poems is written by a master. Someone whose timing is perfect who hears the music of their own song and is able to say it in words. Like this simply perfect piece:
STILL LIFE WITH GHOSTS
Two months into lockdown
at a certain hour of night
time stops cold sneaks in
under the doors through the
windows the ghost you were left with
come in dreams softly elusive
but sometimes you wonder
about pictures from long ago
places and people you used to know
what have they found where
did they go alone in the quiet night
the ringing in your ears
